Emily Allen
Emily Allen is an accomplished electrical engineer and project manager whose journey in the field began at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 2020, complemented by a minor in math and optics. Emily is currently on the path to obtaining her EIT license, with aspirations to achieve her PE license in the future.
Proficient in a multitude of tools and software, including Revit, AutoCAD, Visual Lighting, AGI, SKM, ETAP, and various coding languages, Emily’s technical prowess extends to a comprehensive understanding of industry standards such as NEC, NESC, IECC, IBC, and NFPA. As the lead BIM manager for the electrical department, she tirelessly works to enhance Revit processes, demonstrating her commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements.
Emily’s portfolio boasts a diverse array of successful projects, including medium voltage loop systems, Microgrid and PV generation, Frozen Distribution Centers, Manufacturing and Industrial facilities, as well as projects in aviation and defense. Notably, she spearheaded the electrical design for a test cell dedicated to assessing the V-280 assault aircraft at Bell Helicopter.
Known for her dedication to precision, Emily strives for clear and concise drawings, aiming to optimize designs and minimize costs for project owners. Her commitment to the engineering process allows her to navigate and overcome the unique challenges presented by each project.
A proud member of IEEE, NFPA, and IES, Emily’s professional achievements are complemented by her diverse interests outside the workplace. An archery enthusiast, she held the first rank in the nation for seven years and achieved the second rank globally for two years. Although retired from competitive archery, Emily continues to shoot on weekends, holding several state and national records in compound archery. She also indulges in bowling, despite confessing to not being particularly skilled at it. At home, Emily shares her space with two cats – one a perfect angel and the other, a mischievous feline with a penchant for stealing keys. In addition to her feline companions, Emily has an expanding collection of fish and plans to welcome tree frogs soon. Outside of her professional pursuits, Emily showcases her proficiency with Legos, adding a creative touch to her well-rounded skill set.
